Hong Kong’s Wine Extravaganza in May 2010

May is proving to be a month of wine, wine and more wine!

There seems to be 3 major wine events happening:

1. Time Out’s Wine Walk (15th May)

For $300, get a group of friends together and enjoy the fine wines at many wine shops and cellars.  If only HK had vineyards, it would ceratinly be our wine trail!

2. Hong Kong Wine Week (20th – 30th May)

Vine - Wine Walk This is the event’s first year and hope with it’s success we’ll see it year after year.   Featuring over 60 wine events around the city during this week, from 30% off wines, prime steaks & wine to wine & oysters, there is certainly something for everyone.

You can also consider Vine – The Hong Kong Wine Walk on Fri 28th May, from 6pm-midnight.  For $500, you will be walking around some interesting neighbourhoods and into bars, galleries tasting some fine wines and delicacies along the way.

3. Vinexpo Hong Kong (25th – 27th May at HKCEC)

The biggest wine event of the year for Hong Kong’s wine trade.  Featuring over 840 Vinexpo Hong Kong 2010exhibitors from 32 countries, the event is only getting bigger and better.  Booths will take up 8500 sq m of floor space in the Convention and Exhibition Centre.  The world’s top ten wine producers, who account for over 80% of the world’s production will all be here this year.

This event is trade only – sorry guys!  I have already got my badge a month ago and camera at the ready, will bring the load down of the event back to you after next week.

Many of our suppliers will be exhibiting and am looking forward to visiting their stands and sitting in on some seminars to learn more!

Wine’N'Things’ suppliers attending Vinexpo are Camus, Lanson, Distell (Plaisir de Merle, Stellenzicht, Hill & Dale), Yali, Ventisquero, Bacalhoa, Alma de Chile and Santa Loreto.
